Activities

As they go round the exhibition, children will be guided as they find out how Luciano Fabro uses simple shapes and a wide variety of materials – such as marble, glass, bronze, silk and paper – to create surprising relationships between opposites, such as light and heavy, transparent and opaque, solid and hollow, and visible and invisible. This exploration will help them learn about the idea of space as a dynamic place, constantly transformed by the works of art and by the viewers themselves!

In the workshop session, the class will take inspiration from the works on display and use their imagination to create a sensory and visual vocabulary of their own. Each child will combine materials, shapes, colours and subjects to create surprising and original combinations – such as a marble balloon or a wall made of wool!
