Activities
During the tour, the pupils will see how Luciano Fabro explores the visual language of sculpture using both traditional and unusual materials, which he chooses for their evocative, sensory qualities. By comparing different materials, such as marble, glass, bronze, paper and fabric, they will explore the relationship between shape, matter, weight, transparency and perception, discovering how a simple form can take on entirely different meanings depending on its material and surroundings.
Starting with a hands-on tactile exploration of various shapes and materials, the class will be asked to transform cubes, cylinders and spheres of different sizes and scales. Like this, the same shape can conjure up very different images and subjects, bringing the power of imagination to light!
