Kids is a project that introduces families and children to contemporary art with instruments and ideas that arouse curiosity and an understanding of the thoughts and techniques of today’s artists, through materials and experiences that are new and different every time.

Home at First Sight (ages 8-12)

A playful workshop set right inside playtime, one of the works of art in Rirkrit Tiravanija’s exhibition!
Participants will be welcomed and collected in the Kids Room.

Taking inspiration from the artist’s architectural creations in the exhibition, the children will build a three-dimensional house, experimenting with shapes, colours and volumes to create imaginary environments and original spaces.

FAMILY LAB | Checkmate (ages 7–10)

Play takes centre stage in Rirkrit Tiravanija’s exhibition, where we explore his works while twists and turns lead us through a bright and bewildering labyrinth. The children and adults will turn traditional pawns into fantastical creatures, and will ultimately create a giant chessboard. It’s a chance to play, laugh, and have fun together, using rules, strategies, and lots of imagination!

For Family Lab activities, online registration is also required for all accompanying adults who wish to participate.

1, 2, 3: I Transform Myself! (5-7 ages)

A journey through the works of Benni Bosetto, where plants, objects, fabrics, and animal species coexist and transform into new organisms inhabiting dreamlike settings. Children will have fun creating unique masks and headdresses to transform themselves into fantastic and surprising creatures.

Stairs Love Change (ages 7-10)

With a series of squares, stairs, and surprise passages, the boys and girls will invent a whole new game of snakes and ladders, turning the trail into an adventure in which they build, decorate, and travel together, where every choice makes the game more fun and surprising.

Anselm Kiefer has put up five large canvases around his Seven Heavenly Palaces 2004-2015. What did he make them with? Adults and children will find out, together with the arts tutors, and then create a great big family picture with seeds, coloured sands and lots of other materials.

In creating her works, Benni Bosetto frequently references the human body; in fact, the exhibition features spaces titled ‘the mouth,’ ‘the cheek,’ ‘the belly,’ and ‘the heart.’

Benni Bosetto transforms the Shed into a house filled with memories, animals, plants, and objects: rooms and surfaces seem to come to life through fabrics, decorations, drawings, sculptures, and installations that create magical and dreamlike atmospheres. Inspired by the exhibition, adults and children will create a special house in which each room will be a page that collects the memories, passions, and dreams of each participant.
