Kids is a project that introduces families and children to contemporary art with instruments and ideas that arouse curiosity and an understanding of the thoughts and techniques of today’s artists, through materials and experiences that are new and different every time.

Magic or Science? (ages 8-12)

Invisible forces set objects moving through space and they make lamps glow, compasses point north, and much more besides. Through little experiments and plenty of fun, let’s join forces and see how Yuko Mohri transforms different types of energy into artworks that feel almost magical!

FAMILY LAB | Our Great Big Multi-material Picture (4-7 years old)

Anselm Kiefer has put up five large canvases around his Seven Heavenly Palaces 2004-2015. What did he make them with? Adults and children will find out, together with the arts tutors, and then create a great big family picture with seeds, coloured sands and lots of other materials.

The Invisibles 4: Sound (7-10 years)

A series of activities designed to reveal the mysterious invisible forces that bring Yuko Mohri’s works to life: all waiting to be collected!

Yuko Mohri’s works are all linked together by invisible energies that switch lights on and off, make a piano play on its own, spin spoons, and much more… With eyes wide open and ready to be amazed, have fun experimenting like a scientist and creating like an artist, discovering the magic of SOUND!
Collect “The Invisibles 4” by also joining the GRAVITY, ELECTRICITY and MAGNETISM courses!

The presence of an adult is not required during the activity. Registration for the route automatically grants access to the accompanying person: there is no need to make a reservation for the adult.

From One Pole to the Next (ages 5-6)

Visiting Yuko Mohri’s exhibition is an adventure of constant surprises! At every turn, something unexpected pops up: a staircase that spins, an aquarium full of fish, a piano that plays by itself… With the arts tutors, you too can create a magical labyrinth filled with wonders.

FAMILY LAB | Everyone Move! (ages 7-10)

A chance for children and adults to find out together how Yuko Mohri creates surprising kinetic installations by combining found objects such as funnels, colanders, musical instruments, fish, compasses, and more! Together, the children will see how an electrical circuit works and they’ll be able to create an amazing moving sculpture of their own!

For Family Lab courses, online registration is also required for all accompanying adults who wish to attend.

Yuko Mohri’s art transforms the Shed at Pirelli HangarBicocca into a constantly changing world of sights and sounds. The works, connected by electrical circuits and hidden forces like magnetism, create movements, noises and lights that never stop changing. Together, with the help of the arts tutors, let’s bring to life chain reactions of our own, creating a great mix of colours, sounds and imagination, and lots of fun.
