Activities
During their tour of the exhibition, the children will take a closer look at how Aki Sasamoto uses mathematics and physics as a starting point to observe and describe the world. Curves, trajectories, and forces found in works like Secrets of My Mother’s Child, Strange Attractors and Delicate Cycle will be linked to recognisable shapes and real-world phenomena.

A short introductory activity in the workshop session will show how sequences of numbers inserted into a grid can turn into geometric shapes. Building on mathematical curves and lines, the class will create characters, stories, and fantastical formulas. Finally, their drawings will all come together in a collective visual story.
