Atlas of the Imagination (Lower and Upper Primary)
"Abitare lo spazio" by Luciano Fabro
Focus areas
A cross-curricular activity that covers a range of subjects, such as technology, science, geography, Italian, mathematics, and art and image.
Activities
As they go round the exhibition, the class will take inspiration from Fabro’s core themes: the relationship between the individual, the artwork and the environment, the importance of the visitor’s physical experience, the sensory qualities of materials, and the interaction between sculpture, painting and architecture. Reflective surfaces, transparency and suspended shapes will guide their observations, encouraging them to imagine what is present, absent or not immediately visible.
The visit will involve observation, movement exercises and quick drawing activities focused on the interplay between the artwork, the environment and personal experience. The pupils will explore spaces where reflective surfaces, everyday objects, floral compositions and precious materials come together to create unique sensory experiences for each participant.
