Making Marks or Making Art? (final year)
"XYZ" di Aki Sasamoto
Focus areas
• The body and movement
• Self and others
• Knowledge of the world
Activities
During their tour of the exhibition, the children will be guided to discover the central role of the body in Aki Sasamoto’s works. Movement, balance, spatial orientation, and physical actions will become key to exploring the gallery space and artworks, with a special focus on the presence or absence of the body and on the playful, witty nature of the artist’s practice.
During the workshop session, the class will create a series of works in a group activity based on building connections with one another. The end result will emerge from the chance nature of their actions combined with their common agreement on where and how to move the mark on the paper, keeping the creative process, personal connections, and shared experience right at the heart of the activity.
