Touching with Your Eyes (final year)
"Abitare lo spazio" by Luciano Fabro
Focus areas
- The body and movement
- Images, sounds, colours
- Knowledge of the world
- Self and others
Activities
As they go round the exhibition, children will be guided as they find out how Luciano Fabro uses simple shapes and a wide variety of materials – such as marble, glass, bronze, silk and paper – to create surprising relationships between light and heavy, transparent and opaque, solid and hollow, and visible and invisible. This exploration will help them learn about the idea of space as a dynamic place, constantly transformed by the works of art and by the viewers themselves!
During the workshop session, which begins with an introductory tactile activity, the class will create works of their own, in which opposing elements can come together and transform. By working with different materials, gestures and simple arrangements, each child will experience first-hand how an image can change its meaning depending on the combinations chosen.
