Focus areas
• History of Art

Activities
While going round the exhibition, the students will be guided through Rirkrit Tiravanija’s work, focusing on the playful, relational, and participatory aspects of his work. Throughout the exhibition, play emerges as a means for encounter, sharing, and activating space, transforming the artistic experience into a collective moment that is open to all.

The session then broadens into a reflection on play in the history of art. This will involve looking at how artists across different eras and situations have used play as a language, a strategy, and a form of participation.

To finish, the students will engage in a dialogue to compare historical examples with contemporary practices, seeing how play can be a critical instrument and a powerful social device for building shared meaning.
