Activities
On their tour of the exhibition, the children will be encouraged to reflect on the passage of time and on the transformations brought about by human actions, as well as by historical and social factors. Saodat Ismailova (b. 1981, Tashkent, Uzbekistan) explores this theme by looking at the case of the Amu Darya River and the walnut forest of Arslanbob—two natural wonders of Central Asia that are featured in her films Stains of Oxus (2016) and Arslanbob (2023—in progress) respectively.
In the workshop session, the children will take inspiration from the artworks on display and, with the help of the arts tutors, they will create new visual narratives of their own. They will examine the concepts of past, present, and future, while exploring the relationships between cause and effect.
