Lucio Fontana’s Concetti spaziali (Spatial Concepts)—often called “Holes” and “Cuts”—are his best-known works, but over the course of his career he created many artworks through different media. They include more traditional and figurative sculptures, works in ceramic, decorative ceilings, hanging neons, and Ambienti spaziali (Spatial Environments): self-contained rooms that viewers can walk through. This artist was always experimenting, moving freely between an eclectic array of methods.
