The monograph “Rebecca” accompanies Benni Bosetto first institutional exhibition and is the first publication dedicated to the artist’s work. Its title, drawn from the eponymous Gothic novel published in 1938 by Daphne du Maurier, alludes to the central idea behind the exhibition project: the home as a private, inhabited space—both intimate and political—traversed by layered presences and memories.
This volume explores Bosetto’s practice through a plurality of voices and perspectives: an essay by Caterina Molteni traces the artist’s career from its beginnings; a text by Milovan Farronato examines the theoretical references underpinning her work; and a conversation with the artist focuses on the exhibition project at Pirelli HangarBicocca. The publication also includes thematic contributions by Giulia Civardi, Chus Martínez, Evelyn Simons, and Marianna Vecellio, delving into ideas and concepts explored in the exhibited works.
The book is completed by an extensive photographic documentation of the exhibition, along with a visual apparatus of notes, texts, sketches, and images drawn from Bosetto’s research archive, compiled during the preparation of the show.
