The title of the show, in addition to declare the edge position of the HangarBicocca space, wants to emphasize nonlinear, imprecise and vague visions that underline simplicity, irony and no predetermined orders of knowledge, leaving out the force of defenseless and unexpected ways.
Images which speak of vulnerability not only of one man, but also of places no longer at the center of the attention and which might reveal that authenticity which is the true nature of human beings and of nature that surrounds us: that one which is worth representing. In this situation the most trivial gestures, the most insignificant details, the most unusual thoughts become detectors of our own nature by taking a survey and an unexpected value. The selection of artworks has been designed along the theme of Vulnerability, a concept around which the whole artistic program of HangarBicocca in 2010 is developing and building. To start the HangarBicocca program with an exhibition dedicated to the Italian video, also indicates the willingness of the institution to direct its own attention towards experimentation, research and dialogue with Italian artists. The exhibition is part of a project that involves a series of musical and literary and visual performances to be held during the exhibition from October to December.
