The music of Phill Niblock, the most important living musical experimenter, is neither minimalist nor ambient. The Movement of People Working – presented in a European preview as an installation and played live at the MITO Festival – are the films shot in rural areas in countries around the world (China, Brazil, Portugal, Lesotho, Puerto Rico, Hong Kong, Mexico, Hungary, Peru), which, through an impeccable treatment of the colours and a very particular dry editing, explain with great relevance the contradictions and paradoxes of globalization.
