Summer Casino is the HangarBicocca summer programme devoted to Damián Ortega’s “Casino” exhibition which combines culture and entertainment, live music, dj-sets and videos, taking over the indoor and outdoor areas of HangarBicocca with a non-stop programme from 8 in the evening to 1 in the morning.
The evenings open with a selection of videos by international and Mexican artists, taking inspiration from Damián Ortega’s Alias Editorial project (works by Ulises Carrión, Minerva Cuevas, Dan Graham, Melquiades Herrera, Rubén Gámez, Manuel Rocha Iturbide). From 10pm the screenings are followed by musical performances by groups and dj-sets whose artistic research combines electronic culture, experimentation and bold reinterpretations of a very diverse range of sounds. In a process of deconstruction and reinvention of materials and themes, they take up and continue Damián Ortega’s own studies.
