Rirkrit Tiravanija

The Public Program dedicated to Rirkrit Tiravanija’s retrospective “The House That Jack Built” presents, on Tuesday 23 June 2026 from 7.00 PM, a special evening exploring the participatory and relational dimensions of the artist’s work.

The event begins at 7.00 PM with a conversation held within the exhibition between the artist Rirkrit Tiravanija and art critic and professor at Iuav University Angela Vettese. Moving along the space and engaging directly with the works, the discussion will offer an opportunity to explore some of the key themes that characterize the artist’s practice. Visitors will be free to move through the exhibition path while listening to the dialogue through headphones.

This is followed, at around 8.30 PM, by a cooking session led by Rirkrit Tiravanija.
By transforming the preparation and sharing of food into an artistic gesture, Tiravanija creates opportunities for participation and collective engagement, while reanimating objects and social relations within the institutional setting.

The evening finishes at 10.00 PM with a sound performance curated by 19’40”, taking place on untitled 2026 (demo station no. 9) (2026), an installation inspired by Friedrich Kiesler’s Raumbühne. Conceived as a stage-like platform the work provides the setting for a participatory musical experience. Through collective sound-making practices, the performance will establish a direct dialogue between artwork and audience, reflecting on the notion of authorship. In this shared creative process, composing, performing, and listening become interconnected acts, blurring the boundaries between author and participant.

Free admission to each of the three events on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to availability. Accreditation opens at 6.00 PM.

Reservations for each event are available exclusively to Membership Card holders, subject to availability, starting from Tuesday 16 June. To validate Member accreditation, please arrive 30 minutes before the start time of each event.
