ART on Sundays – Arte Povera: Protagonists and Materials

Juan Muñoz is interested in seeking out unconventional materials and in the relationship with the environment that came about in Arte Povera, the Italian artistic movement that emerged in the second half of the 1960s. This interest is clear to see in La imagen del animal: arte prehistórico, arte contemporáneo, a project curated by Muñoz, which shows works by contemporary artists such as Mario Merz and Jannis Kounellis. The visit will also examine the links between the artistic practice of Juan Muñoz and that of the two greatest exponents of Arte Povera.
