Performance and conversation between Aki Sasamoto and Massimo Bernardi

The Public Program dedicated to Aki Sasamoto’s exhibition “XYZ” presents, on Thursday October 22 2026 from 7.00 PM, Secrets of My Mother’s Child, one of the artist’s most iconic performances, followed by a conversation between the artist and Massimo Bernardi, paleontologist and Director of the Science Museum of Trento (MUSE).

At 7.00 PM, the program opens with the performance Secrets of My Mother’s Child, a work that refers to an autobiographical memory of the artist and reflects on how personal identity is shaped through the layering and accumulation of memories over time.

The evening continues with a conversation between Aki Sasamoto and Massimo Bernardi at 8.00 PM focusing on themes such as the measurement of geological and human time, the ways in which rocks and minerals embody temporalities that exceed human perception, and the vitality of materials that we commonly perceive as inanimate.
