Tarek Atoui

The Public Program of Pirelli HangarBicocca dedicated to the exhibition “Improvisation in 10 Days” by Tarek Atoui concludes on Thursday 19 June 2025 at 7 PM, with an activation of the exhibition by sound artist and Deep Listening expert Diana Lola Posani.

Diana Lola Posani presents, as part of the exhibition “Improvisation in 10 Days”, an evolution of her vocal work Quando mi vidi non c’ero — a performance inspired by the work of Italian artist Vincenzo Agnetti. The title conveys a sense of self-absence and a reflection on identity.

During the performance, the artist’s voice alternates between breath-like sounds and stifled cries, generating sonic elements that intertwine in a kind of polyphony that subtly and evocatively fills the space. Through the use of extended vocal techniques, the performer seeks to momentarily erase her own humanity and transform the voice into something abstract, like an inner landscape or an atmosphere. The audience is invited to listen in a participatory and continuous way, being guided by the sounds that emerge and dissolve into silence.

Free admission on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration opens at 6 PM at the museum’s front desk. Reservations are available for Membership Card holders subject to availability. To validate Member access, please arrive at least 15 minutes before the event starts. Late entry will not be permitted once the performance begins.
