35th MILANO MUSICA FESTIVAL – Lontananze creative

In 2026, the long-standing collaboration between Pirelli HangarBicocca and Milano Musica brings new works to the premiere within Anselm Kiefer’s permanent installation The Seven Heavenly Palaces 2004–2015, featuring international soloists and IRCAM electronics as part of the “Lontananze creative” Festival.

Thursday, May 28, at 7 p.m., “Trompe-oreille” by Georges Aperghis for trumpet and electronics, in its Italian premiere, with Marco Blaauw following the world premiere in Paris as part of Radio France’s Festival Présences 2026, paired with “Metallics” by Yann Maresz and Einspielung by Emmanuel Nunes featuring violinist Diego Tosi.

Thursday, May 28, at 9 p.m., the world premieres of “āroha” by Riccardo Nova and “Encens” by Justė Janulitė (co-commissions by Ircam-Centre Pompidou, Milano Musica, and Tokyo Bunka Kaikan), featuring cellist Francesco Dillon, pianist Emanuele Torquati, and Ircam electronics. The works by Nova and Janulytė will subsequently be presented at the ManiFeste Festival in Paris on June 15, 2026, and in Tokyo in 2028.
The program concludes with “Advaya” for cello, sampler, and electronics by Jonathan Harvey.
