demo station: Spazio Mercurio – DANCING CIRCLE

Workshop

Spazio Mercurio presents "DANCING CIRCLE".

With Lunella Cherchi, dancer and choreographer of Mercurio APS, a sports and cultural association dedicated to the performing arts.

We propose a short contemporary dance class with guided improvisations inspired by circularity, like the installation. Open to everyone of all ages—adults and children alike—to discover the pleasure of dancing together, each with their own originality to explore through movement. An opportunity to find the freedom to listen to oneself, while also expressing one’s needs through the body, gesture, voice, movement, rhythm, and contact with others.

Text curated by Spazio Mercurio.

The event takes place on Rirkrit Tiravanija’s installation untitled 2026 (demo station no. 9). The stage-like structure invites people to “demonstrate” something. The combination of the words demo and station in the work’s title refers respectively to the abbreviation of demonstration—understood both as a protest and as a presentation of someone’s talent or hobby —and to station, that is, an accessible place where such “demonstrations” can occur. For the duration of the exhibition, the installation provides a space for daily public activations.
