A mural of words (upper)
"eL Seed"
Areas of reference
This interdisciplinary activity can be related to various subjects, such as Italian, history, civic education, geography, and art and image.
Activity
eL Seed combines painting, sculpture, calligraphy, and Urban art. For over twenty-five years, he has been creating murals that blend vibrant colors and symbols, conveying messages of peace, coexistence, and unity among different cultures. Through his work, he explores themes such as identity, migration, and freedom. On the walls of the Cube of Pirelli HangarBicocca, the artist eL Seed has created a mural that looks like a large, brightly colored abstract drawing, but it hides words. After the guided tour, students will be asked to divide into small groups and choose a word that is important to them. The participants will experiment with different techniques and fonts, discovering the world of calligraphy and street art. The result will be a class mural, the product of creative collaboration, just like the one eL Seed creates with the communities and places where he works.
