Activities

As they go round the exhibition, the boys and girls will be accompanied through the landscapes of Central Asia as depicted by Saodat Ismailova (b. 1981, Tashkent, Uzbekistan) in her films, installations, and sculptures. A special focus will be given to the visual storytelling and narrative techniques used to portray natural elements such as rivers, caves, mountains, and forests. These landscapes, shaped over time by human activity, still bear the marks of history, traditions, and the collective memory of the Central Asian peoples.

During the workshop session, the children will be able to leave their own marks and traces on special paper walls, and let their dreams and wishes for the future be carried along by the colourful waters of an imaginary river.
