On the occasion of the “Digital Mourning” exhibition, the first monographic catalogue ever published on the artist is released. The volume, published by After 8 Books and realized with the support of Pirelli HangarBicocca, retraces in over five hundred pages Neïl Beloufa’s artistic career spanning over than ten years, through in-depth descriptions and texts on all his films, installations, and the major exhibition projects. The bilingual catalogue (in English and French) outlines the peculiar working process by Beloufa, according to a thematic sequence opening with a chapter entirely dedicated to the “Digital Mourning” show. Besides a rich image apparatus on Neïl Beloufa’s oeuvre and on his studio activity, the publication presents critical essays by Anahi Alviso-Marino, Negar Azimi, Guillaume Desanges, Yilmaz Dziewior, Ruba Katrib, and Jesse McKee. Reminding the green screen used in cinematographic productions, the cover of the book can be customized by the readers who are invited to freely compose it with stickers that visually evoke the editorial project and feature some of the most significant works by the artist.
