Unfold in-3: languages, geographies and temporalities of contemporary independent art is a workshop, open to the public and divided in three round tables of two hours each, that intends to generate a space for discussion and interchange around the issue of re-thinking the relationship between the languages of independent contemporary art and the (urban) space.
The three round tables —titled Geographies of cultural practices (discussion in Italian), Spaces and temporality of art: the moment is here? and The art of reimagining the space gather a varied group of scholars and practitioners that are part of or in connection with the contemporary art scene at urban, national or international level, presenting new ways of producing, understanding, and communicating art in relation to the urban space: Sofia Pia Belenky, Space Caviar (Milan, Italy); Michele Cerruti But (on-line), researcher (Turin, Milano); Lucrezia Cippitelli, curator and teaches Aesthetics at the Brera Academy (Milan, Italy); Roberto Cirillo, L’asilo (Naples, Italy); Zasha Colah and Francesca Verga, Archive (Milan, Italy); Stefano Colombo and Eugenio Cosentino, Parasite 2.0 (Milan, Italy); Bianca Felicori, architect and researcher UCLouvain (Milano, Bruxelles); (Milan, Italy); Hedwig Fijen (on-line), Manifesta (Amsterdam, The Netherlands); Leutrim Fishekqiu and Vatra Abrashi, Autostrada Biennale (Prizren, Kosovo); Gabriele Leo, Post Disaster Rooftops (Taranto, Italy); Simona Malvezzi, Kuehn Malvezzi (Berlin, Germany); Izabela Anna Moren, Studio Rizoma (Palermo, Italy); Matteo Mottin, Treti Galaxie (Turin, Italy); Alessandro Polo and Andrea Magnani, Altalena (Milan, Italy); Davide Quadrio, MAO – Museo d’Arte Orientale (Turin, Italy); Francesca Recchia, The Polis Project (Italy); Michele Rho and Marco Aimo, Radio Raheem (Milan, Italy).
The workshop aims to build a new understanding drawing from a 3-way approach that seeks to unfold each of the experiences through dialogue and discussion, questioning the ways contemporary art languages, geographies and temporalities are being challenged, bended and transformed by independent realities.
