A necklace of steps

"Chiamare a raduno. Sorelle. Falene e fiammelle. Ossa di leonesse, pietre e serpentesse" by Chiara Camoni

Focus areas

Chiara Camoni’s works radiate outwards from the centre of the exhibition, creating different areas and corridors in each direction. One of these is a series of floors made from waste marble picked up from streams, decorated tiles, and interwoven wild flowers and grasses. The concept of community is very important in her artistic practice, as is that of collaboration in the form of sharing thoughts, experiences and projects between people. Indeed, many of her works initially come about during meetings in the form of workshops.

The children will observe the geometric and natural elements during their guided tour with the arts tutors and then, taking inspiration from their close observation of Chiara Camoni’s works, which form spatial boundaries and tell countless potential stories, they will examine the concepts of narrative composition and consistency. Later, they will be encouraged to create a large collective story using blank ceramic tiles which they will place together after they have been personalised by each individual participant.
