Published on the occasion of the show “Call and gather. Sisters. Moths and Flame Twisters. Lioness Bones, Snakes and Stones.” the homonymous volume traces Chiara Camoni’s twenty-year long career, highlighting her distinctive ritualistic and processual approach, characterized by the procedure of assembling natural fragments and domestic elements. The publication offers a plurality of visions through a text by sociologist Gian Antonio Gilli, a contribution by curator Andrea Viliani, an essay by art historian Chus Martínez, along with a conversation between Chiara Camoni and exhibition curators Lucia Aspesi and Fiammetta Griccioli. The book brings together thematic insights into the works on display written by scholars and historians from different fields such as design, art history and archaeology: Anna Anguissola, Domitilla Dardi and Alice Motard. The catalog, designed by the graphic studio bruno, presents extensive photographic documentation of the exhibition project at Pirelli HangarBicocca and illustrates the artist’s creative process through a selection of archival photos enclosed in “uncut pages.”
