Although Milan lacks a contemporary museum of art, it has been able to remain active and dynamic in the contemporary artistic debate and to have is own strong proactive approach thanks to private collectors, foundations, art galleries and new locations such as HangarBicocca. On the occasion of MiArt 2006, the annual Milan fair for contemporary art, HangarBicocca presents an exhibition in which the curator Giorgio Verzotti chooses artists and artworks that are representative of the cultural offering that every single gallery had proposed to its public and to the city of Milan during recent years. The artists chosen represent, even if a necessary brief synthesis, in their generational and poetic diversity, the best Milan has offered in order to remain faithful to its own identity as the cultural centre of an indisputable level.
