Public Program/

Jean Tinguely

The Public Program of Pirelli HangarBicocca dedicated to the retrospective of Jean Tinguely continues, on Thursday 21 November at 7 PM, with Tinguely and Milan, a lecture by Lucia Pesapane, co-curator of the exhibition.

The evening is dedicated to an in-depth study of the relationship between Jean Tinguely and the city of Milan in a historical period when the city was at the crossroads of the most interesting international artistic and cultural experimentation. The lecture traces, through visual documents, images, and written testimonies some of the milestones of Tinguely’s long and intense relationship with Milan: his friendship with Bruno Munari, his collaboration with the galleries of Arturo Schwarz and Guido Le Noci, and his participation in the Nouveau Réalisme movement that ended in November 1970 with the happening “La Vittoria” in Piazza del Duomo.

The conversation will be in Italian with the presence of simultaneous LIS interpreters.

Admission to the event is free. Places are limited and booking is recommended.
