Three fundamental steps to discover the Bicocca district: we start from the Pirelli Foundation, from its Historical Archive and from the exhibition Pirelli e l’Italia in movimento. Ricerca e tencologia, il Cinturato conquista i mercati del mondo, and then continue with the Bicocca degli Arcimboldi, 15th century country villa decorated with a fresco cycle and exceptionally opened to the public. The guided tours finish in HangarBicocca with the temporary exhibitions The Visitors by Ragnar Kjartansson and Islands by Dieter Roth and Björn Roth.

Sunday November 17th 2013
On Sunday November 17th young visitors can become engineers for a day and design their own tyre tread, they can take inspiration from Bruno Munari’s famous cat Meo Romeo to make their own favourite animal, and they can even become directors for a day and make their own short advertising film. Armed with their ingenuity and imagination, the children will learn how a tyre comes into being, as well the properties of rubber and the secrets of the cinema, all with the help of the most wonderful family of cave-dwellers, “Mammut, Babbut, and Figliut”, from the famous Pirelli commercials. The afternoon creativity trails will be followed by a screening of the best-ever commercials made for Pirelli in the 1950s and ’60s.
