Cildo Meireles

On Thursday, July 10th from 7.30 pm, HangarBicocca is pleased to invite you to a live evening, curated by Pedro Rocha, with the performances by Christof Migone and Mark Fell. Inspired by the Cildo Meireles’ works showed in the exhibition Installations, the two performances are brought together in an event that echoes the exploration of height and depth, sharing as well an investigation of scale and an examination of the structure of perspective and proportion.

Christof Migone is an artist, curator and writer. His work and research delve into language, voice, bodies, performance, intimacy, complicity and endurance. Lying face down on the floor, participants in Hit Parade are instructed to hit the ground one thousand times with an amplified microphone. Each choses his/her own rhythm and gradually the first impressions of a cacophony morph into a meditative and moving action that, according to Christof Migone, has resulted both in “moments of epiphany” and in “occasional vehement reactions”.
Mark Fell is a multidisciplinary artist. He is widely known for combining popular music styles, such as electronica and techno, with more academic approaches to computer-based composition with a particular emphasis on algorithmic and mathematical systems. The performance “Sky Dancers” – first presented in Transmediale Festival in Berlin – is an experience that combines synchronized beats, stroboscopic lights and the “sky dance” of giant wind propelled plastic dancers.
